Back-to-School Math Contest Year 2
About
The second annual Back-To-School Math Contest (BTSMC Year 2) will be taking place from Saturday, October 21 through Monday, October 23.
The BTSMC is a 75-minute, 25 question test that follows the same format as the AMC.
Registration
If you are interested in the competition, fill in the registration form at: https://forms.gle/phjnHkFbWDuabLbe7
Additionally, as stated previously, please join our Discord server, as we will be using Discord to hold the contest and communicate with participants.
The registration deadline is 11:59 PM EST on Thursday, October 19th.
Format/Rules
The BTSMC will resemble the format of the AMC 10/12: there will be 25 questions to be solved in 75 minutes, and the difficulty will between that of an AMC 10 and 12 as well. It is intended to mimic an actual AMC competition, so we believe it is good practice for the actual AMC.
Similar to some our previous contests, this competition will not be held live; instead, the test can be taken during any 75-minute window from Saturday, October 21 through Monday, October 23. The test will open at 8:00 AM EST on October 21st, and will close at 11:59 PM EST on October 23.
The contest will be held through a platform with an automatic timer- in other words, once you start the test, a timer for 80 minutes (75 minutes for the test with a 5 minute grace period) will start. More details regarding how this will work has been shared with competitors who registered for the competition.
Note that the use of calculators, textbooks, computer programs, and other outside aids is strictly prohibited. In addition, please refrain from discussing the problems before the submission period is over (so 11:59 PM EST on Monday, October 23). Breaking any of these rules will result in disqualification from the BTSMC and potentially a ban from future Math4All events as well. Problems will be posted on AoPS following the completion of the competition window.
